As your State Senator, Donna will work to stimulate local economic development while promoting local workforce preparedness. She will fight for continued funding of highway and rail transportation projects in order to attract high-wage, high-skill jobs to the area. Donna realizes the need to be able to create programs that make our people competitive in today’s global environment. She will use her corporate job training skills to be a strong advocate for developing workforce development programs and cultivating partnerships between community colleges and employers to ensure local industry needs are met within the community.
EDUCATION
Donna understands the importance of investing in comprehensive education and training programs for our children. Donna believes every child deserves quality educational opportunities in the classroom, without constraints based on zip codes. That’s why she supports an adequate and equitable funding system for education that addresses disparities on all levels and provides real results – from early childhood education and after school programs to community colleges and other higher education programs.
HEALTH CARE
Donna has 20 years experience in the healthcare industry and has witnessed shocking disparities to access, services and options available in healthcare. Seeing first-hand how these disparities most often impact women and working families, Donna’s mission is to ensure that everyone has access to quality and affordable health care. Whether related to prevention, diagnosis or treatment options, Donna will lead the charge to ensure no one is subject to a lesser standard of health care from their physician, provider or insurer based on economic status or any other factor.
